The Launch of Kingston University's Armed Forces Support Group - Monday, June 24 · 4 - 7:30pm

April 6, 2024

To celebrate Armed Forces Day, Kingston University is delighted to invite interested parties to the launch of their new staff Armed Forces Support Group on Monday, June 24 · 4 - 7:30pm, for all with relevant involvement or interest.

This event is open for all staff to attend, no matter the kind of involvement you have had with the military (e.g. serving, reservist, veteran, spouse, family or friendship). Even if you have had no involvement within the military, but are interested in learning more, then please do come along.

After a discussion of group aims and structure, they will offer a session on the value and process of memory capture, followed by a lecture from Dr Richard Boffey from London Higher, who will talk about educational and academic opportunities for military personnel and their families. Our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Team will also discuss our commitments to the Armed Forces Covenant and how the new support group will champion this.

Once the group is established, they hope to host a range of interesting talks as well as offer information on the lives of military families and their past experience within the workplace. Whatever your interest or involvement, you are welcome to join.
